A Sweater for the Big C
Finally decided to spend a bit of time at the blog. Been months now - actually since the wedding.
I've been knitting whenever I have time, and have finished the baby sweater for C. Took it out to Calgary with me, and it fits him - just. That child is BIG. But soooooo adorable. I didn't take any photos of him wearing the garment, (well, I did, but they look terrible, so maybe Bel will insert one for me)so my little one-armed doll will have to do.
The sweater is based on the Einstein construction, but using a different stitch, and trimming it to look like a little 'mohawk', with lots of little icords. There is icord trim all around the sweater, as well as on the sleeves, and hood and used for closure at the neck. I used Lorna's Laces Swirl DK in the colour Motherlode. Loved working with this yarn. It is so soft and looks beautiful knit up. I have this pattern almost written up in size 18-24 months.
I'm also working on a few older projects. A koigu shrug/sweater in 8 colours which I love. I'll finish the knitting today, and then the construction hopefully in the next couple of days.
Haven't heard anything back from Interweave, so I'm guessing my submissions were rejected. Again. Trying not to let that bother me, but it does. I think I need to start my own magazine!
